A multi-talented filmmaker, photographer, and musician hailing from Taiwan but is now making waves in Australia. Known for crafting captivating music videos and commercials, Jamie is diving headfirst into directing with the action-packed short film ‘A Punch For A Buck,’ championing female representation.
With a passion for action, psychological, and crime thrillers, Jamie is set to carve his name in the cinematic landscape. Embracing the art of stunt action and drawing inspiration from legendary composers like Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL, old-school Hong Kong triad and action films, and just being crazily creative, he is ready to make “Blood of Vengeance” an adrenaline-pumped action film.
Joanne Chang
The Sassy Queen:
Actor, Writer and Producer
A NIDA-trained actress and an Australian pharmacist, yes, she is a drug dealer; Joanne Chang was set to follow the career path of pharmaceuticals when she accidentally discovered her knack for creativity in Hong Kong. After a chance opportunity on a China Mobile commercial, she delved deeper into the entertainment industry, working on “Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings”, “Thor Love and Thunder”, acting in the Australian TV show “Bump” Season 4, featuring in short films, commercials, and even reality TV. With a background in screen acting and a diverse skill set encompassing Chinese Kung Fu and contemporary dance, Joanne will portray Juliet, the enigmatic elder sister of the Yip brothers and princess of the underworld.
Theo Trevena
The Martial Arts Mastermind:
Actor, Action Designer and Producer
A martial arts specialist, fight choreographer and action performer, Theo is an action-loving actor from Sydney. It is rare to say this, but he is the White guy who can fight—a Martial Arts guru trained in many forms of martial arts discipline. Theo will bring his experience and knowledge on set, designing the action sequences for “Blood of Vengeance”. Not only will he be designing the action choreography, but Theo will also be acting as Ren, a German man raised in a Chinese triad family, an outsider trying to forge his destiny.
Lazarus Ho
The Flying Ninja:
Actor
Hailing from the vibrant streets of Hong Kong, Lazarus isn’t just an actor – he’s a powerhouse of action and talent. With a knack for Parkour, martial arts, and wire stunts, Lazarus brings unparalleled energy to every performance. He has worked as an action performer for “Shang-Chi and the Legend of Ten Rings” (yes, you can see him right next to the Hong Kong martial artist legend Yuen Wah) and performed stunt works for Australian and Hong Kong short films and TV. Now, he is flying Down Under to embody Raven, the enigmatic Chinese heir of the underworld, who holds grudges against his adopted brother, Ren.
Sonny Yng
The Sonic Bunny:
Executive Producer and CEO of FAITO media
A talented filmmaker from Western Sydney with a Major in Screen Practice & Production, Sonny is passionate about promoting diversity in film. Growing up in Cabramatta, his love for cinema blossomed from watching Chinese action movies with his father. Now, as the CEO of Faito Media and an active Phoenix Eye Film member, he creates films celebrating diverse voices. From experimenting with his father’s iPhone 3 to directing shorts like “Paradise” and producing documentaries like “Bridging the Gap,” Sonny’s journey showcases his dedication. Inspired by action classics like “John Wick” and “The Raid,” he aims to merge compelling storytelling with stunning martial arts action sequences for “Blood of Vengeance”.
Therese Chen
The Calm, Cool Cat:
Producer
With her Certificate IV in Screen and Media and a Diploma of Visual Arts, Therese joined the Phoenix Eye crew in 2017 and quickly became a key player. She’s the mastermind behind the editing of projects like "Creative Lives" (2018), "My Mother, the Action Star" (2020), "Operation: Kung Flu" (2021), and "Absent" (2018). Her talents extend beyond editing, having served as a Producer's attachment for "Nightwalkers" (2019), associate producer for "Breathless" (2019), and playing a crucial role in "Echo 8." Recently, she directed the comedy short "Centrestage!" (2021), showcasing her versatile storytelling prowess.
